Short Introduction

The main products of Shougang Group have always been first chosen products as national key projects and national defense facilities, and have been exported to over fifty countries and regions. In recent years, through technological innovation and readjusting product mix, the proportion of the high-tech and “high value-added” products has been improved year on year, growing 63.71% in 2005, providing powerful support for substantial growth of enterprise economic efficiency.

In February 2005, according to the need of urban development function position and China 's distribution adjustment of steel industry in Beijing , the project carrying out reduction of output, relocation, readjusting product mix and preventing and controlling environmental pollution was submitted to the State Council by the Development and Reform Commission and got official approval. In the period of “the 11th Five-Year Plan”(2006-2010), Shougang will reduce output in Beijing step by step, and develop economy in Beijing headquarter, including R&D system, advantageous non-steel industry, environmental pollution industry, etc. In the meantime, Shougang will build a large integrated steelworks with internationally advanced level in Caofeidian, Tangshan city, Hebei province, and cold rolling production line with 1.5 million ton scale in Beijing .

Carrying out the plan is a significantly strategic move to realize harmonious and sustainable development of enterprise and society. It is also a system project that has mo precedents to go by, providing a rare development opportunity for Shougang.
